Guardians of the vulnerable strike to protect services
Staff who look after the financial affairs of vulnerable people will strike against plans for an expensive relocation under which they will effectively be forced out of their jobs.
Skills for Justice, with support from unionlearn and the justice sector unions, has been involved in delivering the Women and Work Sector Pathways Initiative (WWSPI) across England for the past three years and during the 2010-11 financial year they have been responsible for 738 women in the Justice, Community Safety and Legal Services sector accessing funding for training to improve their career development.
The report suggests that not only is ULR activity increasing but that a clear majority of both representatives and their managers believe that it enhances workplace learning, closes skills gaps and improves unionmanagement relations.
