Members of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union in Wales and throughout the UK, will be taking a second day of strike action at Tywyn Secondary School, Gwynedd, tomorrow (Thursday 14 July) in protest against job and pay cuts.

TUC warns police that cuts in public services will make their jobs harder
Speaking at a meeting of the Police Federation of England and Wales in London today (Wednesday) TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber will warn police officers that spending cuts will make their jobs much more difficult.
Addressing a rally of around 2,000 police officers at the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber will say:
“The challenges you face are similar to those facing millions of other dedicated public servants in our schools, hospitals, universities, prisons, courts, local authorities, job centres and fire stations.
Government has reneged on its commitment to support manufacturing, says TUC

“Today's headline unemployment figures show some encouraging news – employment is up 50,000 and unemployment is down 26,000 on the quarter, which is very welcome.
