UCU today warned that the UK's proud global reputation could be at risk from government policy, as Times Higher Education (THE) magazine published its World Reputation Rankings.

UCU Scotland condemned the decision by Robert Gordon University to derecognise the University and College Union (UCU) and Unite trade unions. The derecognition means that the unions can no longer take part in discussions with the university over terms and conditions of service relating to their members.
