Worldskills are looking for around 2,500 volunteers to help with the organisation and running of the event.

To celebrate Learning at Work Day (19th May 2011) union learning reps from Usdaw and Unite the Union organised a whole day of learning-related activities in their canteen for the hundreds of staff on site, as part of the Learning Zone workplace project at the DHL Distribution Centre in Darlington.
Staff at Babcock Appledore and J&S Marine faced each other on the football pitch last night to kick off Learning at Work Day (Thursday 19th May). The venue for the football match was the Sandymere Training ground in Northam, North Devon – Appledore Football Club’s training facility.
The UCU will be hosting a Green Skills Workshop on Monday 6 June 2011 from 10.30 -16.00. This workshop will examine the role of the learning and skills sector in moving to a low carbon economy.
