BT apprentice Ebere Osuji is a mature and confident young man, who joined the BT apprenticeship scheme in September 2008 after having completed his GCSE’s and A-levels.
Tom Wilson, unionlearn director, in response to Association of Colleges’ research showing that only 7% of pupils are able to name Apprenticeships as a post-GCSE qualification said:
“Clearly more needs to be done to ensure that young people are aware of the full range of options available to them at 16. Schools and those advising young people need to ensure that they are fully aware of vocational opportunities and other alternatives to A Levels.
