TUC’s unionlearn says ‘greener workplaces make economic sense’ as it calls on Midlands employers to green their workplaces

Unionlearn, the TUC’s learning and skills organisation, is calling on employers in the Midlands to make their workplaces greener. Speaking at the Skills for Greener Industries conference hosted by Stephenson College, Tom Wilson, unionlearn director, will explain the work done by Green Reps (trained by TUC Education) to achieve energy savings and huge cost benefits for their employers. The conference will also focus on the importance of green skills in the region for future job creation.

MP to see how young people benefit from ‘Quality’ Apprenticeships at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council

Tom Blenkinsop, MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, will be attending a bespoke presentation of the unionlearn *Quality Award in recognition of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s exemplary work on the delivery and co-ordination of their Apprenticeship Programme. The award will be presented by unionlearn Regional Manager and Northern TUC Regional Secretary, Kevin Rowan on Friday 14th October at the Town Hall in Eston.
