Tony hailed a winner!

Merseytravel union learning representative (ULR) Tony Norbury has been awarded the regional individual National Training Award for for the positive impact his individual training journey has had on the taxi and private hire sector. Tony, from Tranmere on the Wirral, received his award from North West Tonight presenter Ranvir Singh at the Palace Hotel, Manchester on Tuesday 13th October.As as a result, he will go on to represent the North West at the National Training Awards (NTA) in London on the 10th December.

Inequality is the UK’s worst enemy, says TUC

Author Richard Wilkinson will tell a TUC conference today (Monday) that inequality is the UK's worst enemy and that more unequal societies are bad for almost everyone within them – the well-off as well as the poor. With the UK one of the most unequal societies in Europe, Richard Wilkinson – author of The Spirit Level: Why More Equal Societies Almost Always Do Better – will explain that inequality has a detrimental effect on health, education, behaviour, life chances, community cohesion and social mobility.
