SCOTTISH FERRIES REVIEW THREATENS ATTACK ON NORTHERN ISLES SERVICES

MARITIME UNION RMT learnt last night that as part of the Scottish Ferries Review, the Scottish Government intend to break up the current Northern Ferries services, running Orkney and Shetland, in order to enable private companies to cherry-pick lucrative parts of the operation. The service across Pentland Firth has been identified as a first target as the tendering process kicks off with completion in June next year.
